Who is Karlien?
That little girl deep in her thoughts, turns on the music and starts dancing.
My interests have always been broad. Because my grandfather played the piano so well I started piano lessons. At a young age I wrote poems and song lyrics. I danced in my bedroom every day and joined the weekly artclasses my mother gave.
Creativity is a must in my life. I’m not happy without. In working with watercolor I’ve found myself a medium that I can use anywhere and share with anyone. I love the feeling of the brush on the paper. The surprises that happen when I paint. And the feeling I have when I get lost in time.

Project_Karl
In highschool a friend and me wrote little notes to each other during class. Of course we had to hide it and write everything down as short as possible. And so the name Karl was born.
The name stuck around and as of today friends still call me by that name. Even their kids do!
Karl means the naïve, free and creative spirit in me. The girl with no worries and limits. The artist.
